On Wednesday, September 9, Saxonburg Boulevard will be closed between Calmwood Road and Brownshill Road in O’Hara Township. The closure is needed to replace a culvert (JV416) carrying a branch of Little Pine Creek.
Though most drivers probably don’t realize that the structure is there, it still is subject to the same standards as other more obvious crossings and will be rebuilt as part of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. All Saxonburg Boulevard traffic will be detoured to Hart’s Run Road (SR 1010), and SR 8. The detour will be in place until early November while the work is performed by RL Johnson Construction.
On that same day in Baldwin Borough, the Streets Run Road crossing over Streets Run (JV431) will close until mid-November.
Built in 1957 the bridge carries about 7,900 vehicles a day. All traffic will detour to Delwar Road (SR 2047), Lebanon Church Road (SR 2040), Lebanon Road (SR 885) and Baldwin Road (SR 2046). Work will be performed by Walsh Construction.
