Construction continues for the Camelback Road (SR 4006) bridge, which spans Pocono Creek in Pocono Township, Monroe County. This project has been underway since September 2016 as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
Phase one of the bridge project was completed in November 2016, when traffic returned to two lanes for the winter. Construction crews are scheduled to begin phase two March 1. During phase two, temporary traffic signals will be reinstalled, and there will again be one lane of alternating traffic in each direction. Work is expected to be completed in late May 2017.
On the website, the Camelback Road bridge is labeled as JV-196. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project. Replacement work for this bridge will be performed by Walsh Construction II.
