SR 940 Bridge Closed in Monroe County For Emergency Repair Work

An emergency detour has been implemented on the Route 940 bridge (JV-188) in Monroe County.

At this time, the bridge site has been closed until further notice. Updated information should be available by Monday, August 1.

Earlier today, construction crews discovered heavy scour damage, and a large crack of the abutment.

Motorists will be detoured approximately eight miles, utilizing Carlton Road, PA 314, Lower Swiftwater Road and PA 191.

Flaggers will assist in guiding traffic.
