A Wayne County bridge that began construction in May has reopened to traffic in Berlin Township today.
SR 2007 (Tryon Street) crossing Holbert Creek (JV-159) reopened to traffic the afternoon of August 2. The work was performed by Clearwater Construction.
Meanwhile, construction will soon begin on another Wayne County bridge.
SR 1018 (Braman Road) bridge over Little Equinunk Creek (JV-158) in Manchester Township will close to traffic on Friday, August 5. Motorists will be detoured to SR 3047 (Cooley Creek Road) and SR 3041 (River Road and Galloway Road). The work is expected to be complete by September, and will be performed by Khors Construction. The crossing was built in 1957 and averages 350 vehicles a day.
Replacing the bridges removes the current weight limit postings, and will allow PennDOT to remove them from Wayne County’s structurally deficient list.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, the schedule on the Braman Road bridge may change.
