PWKP and PennDOT had the opportunity to host a luncheon at the Governor’s Residence in Pennsylvania on March 1, 2018 to recognize those who have consistently overachieved and demonstrated persistence on the PA Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.  George McAuley, PennDOT’s Deputy Secretary of Highway Administration, and Edward Dice, Plenary’s Head of Delivery for the project, presented Outstanding Performer coins as a symbol of gratitude and recognition of their efforts.

“The Rapid Bridge Replacement project has been quite challenging for all,’’ said PennDOT Deputy Secretary George McAuley. “The first large P3 transportation project for Pennsylvania, and the first of its kind nationally, with 558 bridges to replace geographically dispersed statewide. It was great to be able to recognize those who have been instrumental in the delivery of these bridges, and who have genuinely aided our customers.

“As we enter the final year on the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, PWKP and PennDOT both recognize we could not have achieved the level of performance and high-quality workmanship that we have experienced on this historic project without the hard work and dedication of the thousands of workers involved on this project” said Ed Dice, Head of Delivery for Plenary Group. “PWKP is proud of the team working on this project and believes in recognizing those individuals who have gone above and beyond in their roles. Today we recognized those individuals as outstanding performers.”

Following the coin presentation, the Outstanding Performers were treated to lunch, followed by a tour of the historic Governor’s Residence.

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is an $899 million public-private partnership (P3) awarded by PennDOT to PWKP. PWKP includes, Plenary Group USA Ltd. and Walsh Investors, LLC, which are providing financing and long-term management; a joint-venture construction team of Walsh Construction Company and Granite Construction Company; HDR, Inc., which is the lead design firm; and Walsh Infrastructure Management, which will provide maintenance for a 25-year period upon completion of the bridges.
