June 12, 2017

Motorists will encounter a lane closure on Route 663 (Layfield Road) bridge, spanning West Branch Perkiomen Creek in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery County on Saturday, June 17, and Sunday, June 18, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for installation of erosion and sediment control measures.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area.

A full closure of the bridge is scheduled for Monday, June 19, as work begins as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Montgomery County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

Construction is expected to be complete in late August. During this time, drivers will follow the same detour posted for a separate bridge project on Route 663. Motorists will be directed on Route 29, Route 100 and Route 73.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

This bridge is referred to as JV-215 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
