Construction work on the Edella Road Bridge over I-81, located between Willowbrook Road and Fox Run Circle, in South Abington Township started on Tuesday, April 18, as part of PennDOT’ s Rapid Bridge Replacement project.  While the Edella Road Bridge is closed, drivers are directed to follow a detour along Venard Road (Route 4030) and South Abington Road (Route 407). The bridge is scheduled to reopen to traffic in August.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

This bridge is referred to as JV-139 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
