The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Columbia County in August with the reconstruction of a bridge in Madison Township. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Columbia County’s structurally deficient list.
The state-owned bridge (JV101) is located on Route 44 (White Hall Road), spanning a tributary to Branch Chillisquaque Creek. Construction is expected to begin in August with the closure of the bridge. During construction, drivers will be directed to a detour along Route 254 (Washingtonville Road), Route 1007 (Diehl Road) and Route 1002 (Strawberry Ridge Road). Work is expected to be complete in November.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
