August 10, 2016

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Centre County in August with the reconstruction of a bridge in Boggs Township.

The state-owned bridge (JV-28) is located on Route 1002 (Yarnell Road/Little Marsh Creek Road), spanning Little Marsh Creek. The bridge is currently weight-limit posted at 32 tons for single vehicles and 40 tons for combination vehicles. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove the weight postings. Replacement will also remove the bridge from Centre County’s structurally deficient list.

Construction is expected to begin in August and be complete in late October. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 1001 (Howard Divide Road), Route 150, and Route 4007 (Moose Run Road).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
