Construction for a West Branch Road (Route 2002) bridge in McKean County, is scheduled to begin this month as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from McKean County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
The bridge spans the West Branch of Potato Creek near the Village of Betula in Norwich Township.
Construction is expected to begin during the week of June 12 and be complete in mid-November. During this time, an alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by temporary stop signs.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-72 and is one out of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
