Construction
for the Route 6 bridge, spanning Wintroth Run in Brokenstraw Township, Warren County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
The bridge is located at the intersection of Route 6 and Abraham Hollow Road.
Construction is expected to begin during the week of September 11 and be complete in early December.
No detour is anticipated on Route 6, but traffic will be restricted to one lane and controlled by temporary signals.
During a portion of the project, Abraham Hollow Road will be closed south of the intersection with Route 6 and a detour will be required. The posted detour for Abraham Hollow Road south of Route 6 will use Route 6, Mead Run Road, and old Pittsfield Road.
Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Warren County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-18 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
