Construction for the Rolling Meadows Road (SR 2026) bridge, spanning Coal Lick Run in Franklin Township, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Greene County’s structurally deficient list.
Construction is scheduled to begin on November 7 and be completed in two weeks. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Rolling Meadows Road (SR 2026), Route 21 (Roy E Furman Highway) and Route 19 (East High Street).
The bridge was built in 1933 and averages 1,180 vehicles a day.
This bridge is referred to as JV-514 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
