Construction for the Linden Road (Route 1006) bridge, spanning Little Chartiers Creek in North Strabane Township, Washington County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Washington County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Construction, with
detour in place, is expected to begin during the week of June 11 and be complete in mid-August.
However, beginning the week of May 21, prep work will be performed with flaggers in place.
During detoured construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Waterdam Road (Route 1053), Route 19 (Washington Road) and Linden Creek Road (Route 1023).
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-566 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
