The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project will begin in Beaver County with the start of construction on three bridges beginning in July.
1. A Georgetown Road crossing over Mill Creek in Greene Township (JV-458) is scheduled to start July 5. The bridge will be built one-half at a time allowing one lane of alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal to remain open throughout the project. Construction of the bridge is expected to be completed by mid-November. The bridge was built in 1929 and averages 583 vehicles a day.
2. A second Georgetown Road Crossing over Mill Creek in Greene Township (JV-459) located to the north of (JV-458) is scheduled to start July 13. The bridge will also be built one-half at a time allowing one lane of alternating traffic controlled by a traffic signal to remain open throughout the project. Construction of the bridge is expected to be completed by mid-November. The bridge was built in 1929 and averages 583 vehicles a day.
3. The Bocktown Cork Road over Raredon Run in Independence Township (JV-457) is scheduled to close July 29. Traffic will be detoured using SR 151 to SR 3023 to SR 30 (Lincoln Highway) to SR 3071 to SR 3025 (Bocktown Cork Road).
