Construction for the Industry Road (SR 2017) bridge, spanning Boyds Hollow Run in Elizabeth Township, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Allegheny County’s structurally deficient list.

Construction is expected to begin on October 3 and last for approximately five weeks. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Boyds Hollow Road, Fallen Timber Road, Howell Road (SR 48) and Rock Run Road.

Built in 1930, the bridge averages 2,029 vehicles a day.

This bridge is referred to as JV-425 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
