Construction for the bridge carrying Golf Course Road (State Route 4011) over Carbaugh Run, in Franklin Township, Adams County, has been rescheduled to begin the week of July 30. The bridge had been scheduled to close for construction the week of July 23, as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
When the bridge closes for full replacement, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 30, a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Access Road on Rocky Mountain Road and State Route 233. Construction is anticipated to be complete in October.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-235 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
