Construction for the Valley Drive Road (State Route 1018) bridge, which spans Deep Creek in Lykens Township, Dauphin County has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to begin on May 4.
Construction is now expected to begin during the week of May 8 and be complete in mid-July. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along North Crossroads Road, Smucker Hill Road, West Middle Road, and Valley Drive Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-245 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
