Montoursville, PA – Construction continues on Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Projects in Bradford County with anticipated completion in December.
Construction started on the Berwick Turnpike bridge on State Route 4013 spanning Miller Run in Ridgebury Township (JV-100) in June and was expected to be complete in October.
The project has experienced significant weather-related delays and flooding. Completion of the project is now anticipated to be complete in December. Motorists will continue to utilize a single lane condition through the project area, with alternating traffic flow controlled by temporary traffic signals.
These bridge replacements are part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach allows PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly, while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
