The Noblestown Road (Route 3048) bridge, which spans a tributary to Robinson Run in Collier Township, Allegheny County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from Allegheny County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
The bridge reopened to traffic on Wednesday, May 23. Replacement work was performed by Independent Enterprises, Inc. of Oakdale, PA.
The new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan.
This bridge is referred to as JV-441 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
