The Kane Road (Route 3009) bridge, which spans Tramp Mill Run in Hopewell Township, Beaver County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from Beaver County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
The bridge reopened to traffic on Monday, October 16. Replacement work was performed by Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc. of Braddock, PA.
The new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan.
This bridge is referred to as JV-456 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
