More construction is getting started in Allegheny and Butler County, with three bridges closing next week. Several more projects are planned in the month of August so keep checking back to this page for updates.

August 10: In Allegheny County, the Ripple Road bridge (JV436) will be closed where it crosses Long Run in White Oak Township. All traffic will be detoured to Long Run Road (SR48), Walnut Street (SR148), and Center Street (SR2118). The detour will be in place until late October while the work is performed by Walsh Construction. The Ripple Road bridge was built in 1939 and currently averages more than 9,100 vehicles a day.

Another Allegheny County bridge closing on Monday is on Little Pine Creek Road (SR 4017) at Little Pine Creek in Shaler Township. That structure (JV446) was built in 1940 and carries almost 1,600 vehicles per day. Little Pine Creek Road traffic will be detoured to Wetzel Road, Mt. Royal Boulevard (SR 4019), and Dewey and Wilson Streets. The work will also be performed by Walsh Construction and is scheduled for late October completion.

In Butler County, North Buffalo Township, the Freeport Road (SR3017) bridge over Glade Run will be closed for reconstruction until late October. The work will be performed by C.H. & D Construction, it had been delayed for a week while utility relocation was completed. Freeport Road traffic will detour to SR422 and Glade Run Road (SR3007). Built in 1922, the bridge carries more than 2100 vehicles a day. (JV367)
