The reopening of the Logans Ferry Road (Route 2075) bridge, spanning Allegheny Valley Railroad in Plum Borough, Allegheny County, has been delayed.
Construction started on October 2 and was anticipated to be completed in early December. However, due to construction delays at the bridge site, the new anticipated completion date is the week of December 4. While the bridge is still closed, car traffic will utilize a detour along Sardis Road (Route 2088) and Route 366 (Greensburg Road). Truck traffic will utilize a detour along Coxcomb Hill Road/Hulton Road (Route 2082), Freeport Road/Pittsburgh Street (Route 1001), Schmidt Bridge (Route 1038), Route 56, and Industrial Boulevard (Route 4087). Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from the state’s list of structurally deficient bridges.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-435 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
