Uniontown, PA – The reopening of the Castile Run Road (Route 1011) bridge, spanning South Fork Tenmile Creek in Jefferson Township and the Borough of Clarksville, Greene County, has been delayed.
Construction started during the week of August 6 and was anticipated to be completed in November. However, due to construction delays caused by significant flooding at the bridge site, the new anticipated completion date is mid-January 2019. While the bridge is closed, drivers will continue to be directed to follow a detour along Route 188 (Jefferson Road), Route 88 and Main Street (Route 2039).
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-508 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
