More bridge construction is coming to Westmoreland County.
JV552 - Beginning September 8, the Wilpen Road (SR 1017) bridge over Mill Creek in Ligonier Township will be closed for reconstruction until early November. All traffic will be detoured to SR 711 while the bridge is replaced. The Wilpen Road bridge was built in 1928 and averages about 575 vehicles a day. The work will be performed by Allison Park Contractors.
JV554 - On August 24, the SR 1034 crossing over Beaver Run in Salem Township closed until early November. All traffic is detoured to SR 1061 and SR 819. The bridge carries about 700 vehicles a day and was built in 1910. Walsh Construction will do the work.
JV559 - Also on August 24, the Hills Church Road (SR 4053) crossing over Turtle Creek closed until early November. Traffic is detoured to US 22, SR 66, Mamont Drive (SR 1042), SR 286, and Mamont Road. The bridge carries about 2,200 vehicles a day and was built in 1928. Plum Contracting will do the work.
