June 19, 2015

Two projects are starting in Butler County next week with the closure of bridges on Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township and on W. Cruickshank Road in Middlesex Township.

In Clinton Township, drivers will see the Saxonburg Boulevard bridge closed where it crosses Bull Creek early in the morning on Monday, June 22. The bridge was originally built in 1929 and averages 2,153 vehicles a day. All traffic will be detoured to Ekastown Road, Lardintown Road, Millerstown-Culmerville Road and back to Saxonburg Boulevard. The detour will be in place until mid-August.

In Middlesex Township, the W. Cruickshank Road bridge will close where it crosses a tributary of Glade Run on Wednesday morning, June 24. That bridge, built in 1987, carries 1,060 vehicles per day. All traffic will be detoured to Pittsburgh Road, Brownsdale Road and Three Degree Road. The detour will also be in place until mid-August.

In Westmoreland County work will begin Monday morning, June 22, on the SR381 bridge over Laughlintown Run in Ligonier Township. All SR381 traffic will be detoured to Darington Rector Road, SR711 and US30 ( Lincoln Highway). The detour will be in place until mid-September.

Construction is getting started soon in Westmoreland County, on SR381 over Laughlintown Run in Ligonier Township. Work there is scheduled to begin Monday, June 15 but could be postponed to later in the week due to permitting. Once the bridge is closed all SR381 traffic will be detoured to SR2043, SR711 and US 30. The detour will be in place until mid-August.

In Bradford County, SR367 over Fargo Creek has been closed for construction. All SR367 traffic is detoured to SR1014, SR3002, SR3001 and SR3005 until late August.

In Tioga County, SR249 over Jemison Creek will be reduced to one lane starting the week of June 22. For the first two weeks flaggers will control traffic with one lane alternating across the bridge at a time. After that, both directions of traffic will be controlled by stop signs until early December.
