A planned closure
for a bridge carrying Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) over Miller’s Run in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, has been rescheduled. The bridge was scheduled to close for construction, as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, during the week of September 18.
Construction is now expected to begin during the week of September 25 and be complete in mid-December. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 10, Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), and Route 897 (White Horse Road).
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-257 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
