June 20, 2017
The scheduled closing of the Roxbury Road bridge over Doubling Gap Creek in Lower Mifflin Township, Cumberland County, has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to begin during the week of June 26.
The bridge is now scheduled to be closed during the week of July 3 and be complete in late September. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 233 and Center Road. Shed Road, a township road where the bridge intersects Roxbury Road, will be closed during construction. Local residents on Shed Road will follow an additional detour along Blain McCrea Road, Pipeline Road, and Mountain Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-240 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
