The closing of a bridge carrying Route 124, Abels Road, over Cabin Creek in Lower Windsor Township, York County, previously scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 26, for barrier improvements, has been postponed.
The barrier modifications and improvement work
is now anticipated to be performed in October.
A specific date with details of the schedule and traffic control plans will be issued approximately two-weeks prior to the repair work.
The Abels Road bridge was replaced in December 2016 as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
This bridge is referred to as JV-296 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
